The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE Act) was passed by the Parliament of India on 4 August 2009. This act came into force on 1 April 2010 and is applicable to children aged 3.5-7 years throughout India.
The RTE Act mandates that 25% of seats in private schools must be reserved for children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups (DG).
Children from the following categories are eligible:
Recognized Schools
Reserved Seats
Free Education
This decision to uphold the 25 per cent reservation will help ensure quality education to students from economically weaker sections and help secure their future. The decision will help aid and boost the overall progress and development by fostering quality education across section of the society.
Education is the key that unlocks a world of opportunities, empowering kids with knowledge and skills to navigate life's challenges. It lays the foundation for personal growth, critical thinking, and a brighter future.
